Getting your oil changed is key to keep your car running efficient especially in the summer on a hot day.
The historical refrain for the oil change question seemed to be “every 3,000 miles”. For cars bought in the last seven or eight years, that is no longer true.
Why the switch? Improvements in oil chemistry and engine technology have meant that cars can drive significantly farther before needing that oil change. Current recommended estimates are closer to 7,500 and may go as high as 10,000 miles or more.
